Live voting vs mail in voting

This seems to have become a 'hot' topic over the last few months.. Some states have been doing mail in voting for years but now other states want to do it for the 2020 election.. Nevada wants to mail ballets to 'every' registered voter in the state.. problem might be that many have passed away or moved out of the state.. no problem though as someone will get those ballets and just fill in the blanks and return them.. New York State just ran their primary in June and some of the races still have not been called.. What possibly could go wrong in a national mail in vote?? .. Don't get me wrong as there are states that have been doing it for years but those ballets must be requested
I believe no matter who wins the presidential election the other party will be crying fraud.. It does seem that the Democrats are pushing the narrative that if Trump loses that he will refuse to leave the White House and they will send in the troops to remove him..

Trump Campaign Sues Nev. Over Mail-In Voting Law

    https://www.oann.com/trump-campaign-...in-voting-law/

President Trump has doubled down on his criticism of mail-in ballots. His reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee have sued Nevada to block its new law, which would require election officials to send mail-in ballots to all of the state’s registered voters.

“I mean, honestly, it’s a disgrace,” said the president. “Universal mail-in ballots is going to be a great embarrassment to our country.”

In a tweet, the president claimed Nevada’s mail-in voting will be a corrupt disaster if it’s not ended by the courts.

And so many people are thinking along these lines...

America on the Precipice – November 7, 2020

Is the United States prepared for the aftermath of the upcoming Presidential election? Imagine this scenario, bearing in mind that all of its elements are eminently plausible.

On the morning of November 5, 2020, the election results are inconclusive, and neither candidate has conceded. Remarkably, most public polling over the past six months failed to predict this outcome. Either a large number of voters kept their preference to themselves or lied to the pollsters.

Substantiated reports of errors and blunders in tallying ballots and evidence of widespread mail-in voters’ fraud, lead both parties to challenge the results before the Supreme Court, which invalidates the election. A new election day has yet to be announced.

Conflicting disinformation campaigns flood traditional and social media, most of which are controlled by the Left. They are spreading falsehoods and fake news, including disinformation spawned by U. S. enemies, to further confuse and incite large segments of the population, especially the young. Real and fake images of clashes between law enforcement and rioters increase racial tension, goading the public into arming themselves against the police and causing more violent outbursts.

The civil unrest that erupted after the murder of George Floyd has now been aggravated by groups supporting the opposing Presidential candidates, each declaring their candidate the winner. Armed anarchist groups are joined by radical Islamists and criminal gangs destroying and looting government buildings, churches, and synagogues, as well as private, public and commercial properties alike, increasing chaos throughout the country.

Police forces are hindered by “progressive” mayors and governors and are vastly outnumbered; Federal law enforcement and National Guard personnel are confronted by heavily armed gangs.

Meanwhile, the lack of accurate COVID-19 testing and the absence of proper contact tracing systems necessitate severe lockdowns, which “progressive” mayors disregard, allowing mobs to storm the streets, thus causing an upsurge of virus infections. Hospitals are overwhelmed by newly infected cases, as well as a large number of casualties from the raging violence. Terrified and pandemic-fatigued citizens shelter at home under ever-increasing stress, as suicide and drug overdose numbers are escalating. The nation is still waiting for effective vaccines and readily available, reliable treatments.

The chaos and lack of coordination among the different agencies responsible for local law enforcement and national security is aggravated by U. S. enemies who intensify their disinformation campaigns and economic warfare against America

Not known for missing opportunities to harm the U. S., Chinese, Russian, Iranian, international Islamic terrorist groups and organized crime syndicates’ highly trained cyber forces have already been taking advantage of deficient cybersecurity worsened by millions working from home. The hackers are using identities stolen from tens of millions of employees in government agencies, particularly defense and medical and research institutions, stealing critical research data, and corrupting research findings. They are also hacking into financial institutions and clearinghouses, diverting hundreds of billions of dollars to accounts controlled by them and their allies.

As if this were not enough, Vicky, which began as a tropical storm in the western Caribbean Sea, turned into a Category 4 hurricane, is pounding a large swath of the eastern seaboard. Hurricane-force winds, flooding, and tornadoes cause widespread power outages, further hindering cyber and physical security systems. Well-coordinated hacking attacks breach aging water and nuclear disposal and waste facilities contaminating large areas, successfully interrupt communication and transportation systems, as well as other vulnerable critical infrastructure sectors.

The prospect of such a full-on nightmare scenario hitting the U. S. has never been more realistic. In fact, the country is already struggling to cope with many elements of that nightmare.

It is late, but not too late for the President to use his Constitutionally mandated executive power to order U. S. national security and all other government agencies to better coordinate and prepare for a number of alternate future scenarios that may soon arise. This is no time to wing it.

In New York Primary, More Than 20% of Mail-in Ballots Disqualified

The New York City Board of Elections (BOE) disqualified 84,208 vote-by-mail ballots — nearly 21 percent of the total cast — in the June 23 Democratic presidential primary, according to new figures released by the Board on Wednesday.

The city BOE received 403,103 mail-in ballots, but the certified results made public Wednesday revealed that only 318,995 were counted. That means slightly more than one-fifth of votes cast in the presidential primary were not counted.

The reasons for disqualification included missing a postmark, failing to include a voter’s signature, and other defects. Roughly 30,000 mail-in ballots were invalidated just in Brooklyn.

The election took place after Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an executive order making it easier to vote by mail or absentee.

Arthur Schwartz, who represented several candidates in a federal lawsuit claiming voters were disenfranchised over the BOE and Postal Service’s handling of ballots, called the high invalidation rate “astonishing.”

    'It’s very troubling,” Schwartz added.

Manhattan Judge Analisa Torres ordered the counting of ballots received by June 25, although BOE said it is appealing the ruling.

Schwartz maintains that it wasn’t voters’ fault that they failed to sign their ballots in many instances.

The envelope with directions for the signature was so poorly designed,” Schwartz said. Doug Kellner, co-chair of the state Board of Elections, agreed with him.

'The invalidation rate is higher than I would have predicted,” Kellor told the New York Post.

    The Post reported:
Meanwhile the embattled BOE found itself mired in controversy again after emails obtained by The Post show the agency blew off Kellner, who proposed reforms to prevent another absentee balloting nightmare in November.
His six-page proposal urged city BOE officials to ensure proper staffing at polling places during the November election to ensure lines are no longer than 30 minutes; to tally absentee ballots more quickly than the six weeks it took to certify results from the primary; and to plan for processing “double or triple” the number of absentee applications.
“Add new capacity to process the applications in a timely manner now. Do not wait for a backlog from which you can never recover,” Kellner said.

Today my daughter in law posted on Facebook about the mail in ballots for the Florida primary.. She received one for herself as a registered republican.. Two of the kids are registered Independents and each received a ballet although they no longer live there and she received one for her Aunt who lived there a few years back for a very short time, her Aunt was a registered democrat. So what she got was a ballet that was republican that was hers, then the aunts ballet and the two kids were all the same,"democratic ballots.. Her question was why did the two kids have only a choice of the democratic ballet..
Here in PA you have to register for the party you want to vote for in the primary.. November election is different.. Trump is out saying everyone should take Florida's lead when it comes to mail in voting.. This certainly doesn't look right.. Also on her address label ti had on it her name and address and under that it said „Or current registered voter” WTF?? Get out and go to the freaking polls already..

Here in PA I do believe they are gonna turn this into a nightmare,, PA is considered a swing state and will be close. . Now they want to add three days to count the mail in votes.. I call bullshit.. If your gonna mail it in then it should be up to the voter to get it back before election day..

Pa. wants more time to count mail-in ballots, but urges voters to apply and send them ASAP

    https://www.pennlive.com/news/2020/0...them-asap.html

Pennsylvania is seeking court approval to get more time to count mail-in ballots in the November election, and the state official who oversees elections said it’s critical to protect the right to vote.

Secretary of State Kathryn Boockvar said Friday the deadline extension is needed “so every eligible voter will have confidence their vote will be counted.”

With reports of delays in mail delivery across the country, Boockvar also urged voters to apply for mail-in ballots right away and to return them as soon as possible.

Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration has asked the state Supreme Court to extend the deadline for accepting mail-in ballots following a letter warning of delays from the U. S. Postal Service. The Wolf administration wants the court to allow ballots to be counted up to three days after the election, as long as the ballots are postmarked by 8 p. m. on Election Day.

The Postal Service has warned the Wolf administration about its challenges in handling ballots cast by mail. The postal service has now warned 46 states that ballots cast by mail may not arrive in time to be counted, The Washington Post reported Friday.

Last month, the postal service advised the state to urge voters to mail their ballots a week before the election deadline. Under state law, the deadline is 8 p. m. on Nov. 3, Election Day.

State officials cite a critical problem. The Wolf administration said the deadline extension is needed because residents can apply for mail-in ballots up until a week before the election. Without an extension to count mail-in ballots, the state argues voters could be denied their right to cast their ballots.

“To state it simply: voters who apply for mail-in ballots in the last week of the application period and return their complete ballot by mail will, through no fault of their own, likely be disenfranchised,” Wolf administration lawyers wrote in the court filing.

Poor disenfranchised voters, what a load of liberal BS. Vote as we always did and the hell with this leftist mail-in voting.
